Everything you need to know about the Amalfi Coast

When to go to the Amalfi Coast

April to October is the ideal time. July and August are packed with Italians (Ferragosto). May, June and September offer mild temperatures (22–27°C) and accessible beaches.

Where to stay

Sorrento for being close to the airport and for evening strolls, Positano for the iconic and photogenic (pricey), Praiano or Maiori for peace and quiet at a better price, central Amalfi for an authentic atmosphere.

Getting around

The airport–hotel transfer is included. Note: the coastal road SS163 is narrow and winding (5h Salerno–Sorrento in peak season). The ferry (alibus) is a fast alternative to avoid the traffic jams.

Local food

Try scialatielli (local pasta), Neapolitan pizza, mozzarella di bufala, limoncello and sfogliatella (pastry). Michelin-starred restaurants are common (Don Alfonso, Quattro Passi, Don Geppi).
