Everything you need to know about Ischia

When to go to Ischia

April–October is the ideal time. July–August is peak Italian season (busy). May, June and September are the most pleasant (22-27°C), and the thermal spas are open all year, even in winter.

Where to stay

Ischia Porto for a lively scene close to the harbour, Forio for spectacular sunsets and beaches (Sorgeto), Lacco Ameno for understated luxury, Sant'Angelo for a bohemian fishing village.

Getting around

The port–hotel transfer is included. The island is small — local buses connect all the villages. For more seclusion, rent a scooter or a compact electric car. Ferries link Ischia with Capri and Procida.

Local food

Try coniglio all'ischitana (traditional rabbit), bucatini al ragù di seppia (pasta with cuttlefish), local limoncello and Biancolella DOC wine. The taverns of Sant'Angelo serve fresh fish.
