The main airports are Izmir (ADB) for the north (Kusadasi/Alaçatı), Bodrum (BJV) for the centre and Dalaman (DLM) for the south (Marmaris/Ölüdeniz). Charters are available from Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Iași and Timișoara.
The ideal season is May to October. Average summer temperatures are 28–33°C. June and September are the most pleasant, with warm water and less crowded beaches.
The official currency is the Turkish Lira (TRY), but Euros and cards are accepted everywhere in tourist areas. Tip: exchange Euros for Lira for local markets, tipping and traditional restaurants.
