The X4 bus (MLA → Valletta): 30 min, €1.50. Taxi: €25. Malta International Airport is 9 km from Valletta.

Getting around the island

2-hour bus ticket: €1.50 (winter), €2 (summer). Day Pass: €15 unlimited. Valletta → Gozo ferry: €5.60 return.

  • If the airline cancels the flight and does not offer a reasonable alternative, you are entitled to a full refund. We process the refund through the platform, in line with the applicable policies — you do not need to contact the airline directly. Flight tickets are generally non-refundable when the passenger cancels. Changes are possible depending on the airline's conditions and the timing of the request — additional costs may apply (change fees and/or fare differences).

  • Malta has 300 days of sunshine a year. Best: Apr-Jun and Sep-Oct. Winter is mild (15°C) and free of crowds.

  • Yes — most airlines offer checked baggage and seat selection as separate options, and prices vary by airline and route. The easiest way is to add them directly to your booking on TravelTheme: you have every option in one place, without visiting the airline's site. This way you avoid airport surcharges — baggage added at check-in can cost 2-3× more than if you book it in advance. Seats with extra legroom and those by the window or aisle fill up fast — select yours when you book the ticket.

  • No — Romanian citizens travel to Malta visa-free (Schengen Area and EU). A valid ID card is enough.
