When to go to Kefalonia
May–October is the perfect season. June and September offer ideal temperatures (25-28°C) and fewer tourists than the larger islands.
Where to stay
Argostoli is the main base, Fiskardo for northern charm, and Lixouri for quiet beaches on the other side of the island.
Getting around
The airport–hotel transfer is included. Kefalonia is mountainous — a rental car is essential for Myrtos, Assos and the caves.
Local food
Try kreatopita (meat pie) and robola, the island's local white wine. Greek cuisine is at its most authentic on Kefalonia.
