New Year's Eve in Antalya
Flight, hotel and transfer, with the turn of the year in the old town on the Turkish Riviera.
New Year's Eve on the Turkish Riviera: the old town of Kaleiçi lit up for the holidays, the snowy Taurus Mountains above the sea and 15°C by day.
New Year's Eve in Antalya is a city New Year by the sea. In winter the Turkish Riviera is no longer a beach destination: it is around 15°C during the day, often sunny, with the Taurus Mountains white with snow above the bay. The night of 31 December is spent in the old town of Kaleiçi, in the lanes between the Ottoman walls and the Roman harbour, or at the hotel's gala dinner.
The packages include a flight from Bucharest, accommodation and transfer, 5 nights, with departures between 28 and 30 December and the return in the first days of January. You see the price of each hotel in the offer, before you pay.
Top attractions in Antalya
Kaleiçi, the old town
Antalya's historic centre is ringed by walls and runs down to the old harbour. You enter through Hadrian's Gate, built by the Romans in the year 130, and wander lanes of wooden Ottoman houses, tea houses and restaurants. On New Year's Eve it is the liveliest place in the city.
The Düden waterfalls
The Düden river reaches the sea through a waterfall that drops straight off the cliff into the Mediterranean, at the edge of the city. Further up, in the upper falls park, you can walk behind the water through a cave. In winter, with more water, the falls are more spectacular.
Side and Aspendos
A little over an hour from the city, Side has the ruins of an ancient town right on the sea, with the Temple of Apollo on the headland. On the way you pass Aspendos, whose Roman theatre is so well preserved that performances are still held in it. In winter you see them without the summer heat and crowds.
Konyaaltı seafront
The long pebble beach west of the city has a promenade along its whole length, with the mountains behind. In winter it is the place for sunset walks and a seaside café, not for swimming: the sea is around 18°C.
