New Year's Eve in Sinai, on the Red Sea: a week of over 20°C, the reefs of Ras Mohammed and the turn of the year in Naama Bay.

New Year's Eve in Sharm el Sheikh means a sunny week in the south of the Sinai Peninsula, between the mountains and the best-known reefs of the Red Sea. At the end of December it is around 23°C during the day, and the sea is about as warm. In winter Egypt is on the same time as Romania, so midnight comes at the same moment as at home.

The package has a charter flight from Bucharest on 27 December, 7 nights, returning on 3 January, accommodation at the hotel you choose with the meals in the offer, and transfer. You see the price of each hotel in the offer, before you pay.

Top attractions in Sharm El Sheikh

The turn of the year in Naama Bay

Many hotels in Sharm hold their own gala dinner and party on 31 December, sometimes compulsory, either included in the price or paid separately. If you want to go out, head to Naama Bay, with its promenade, bars and seafront restaurants, or to SOHO Square, full of lights on New Year's Eve.

Ras Mohammed National Park

The southern tip of Sinai is a marine park with coral walls, reef fish and very clear water. You visit it by boat, with snorkelling stops, or by land, with beaches and viewpoints. It is the best-known trip from Sharm.

Tiran Island

The Strait of Tiran has some of the most beautiful reefs in the Red Sea, known by their names: Jackson, Thomas, Gordon and Woodhouse. The boat trip takes a day, and in winter the water stays around 23°C.

Mount Sinai

The climb up Mount Sinai starts at night, so you catch the sunrise from the summit, and comes down to St Catherine's Monastery, one of the oldest in the world. In winter it is cold at the top, close to zero, so bring warm clothes.
