When to go to Thailand
November to April is the ideal season for Phuket and Krabi, with sunshine and calm sea. May to October brings the monsoon and lower prices.
Where to stay
Patong for nightlife, Kata and Karon for beach and families, Khao Lak for peace, and Krabi (Ao Nang) for limestone cliffs and islands.
Getting around
The airport–hotel transfer is included. For the Phi Phi islands and Phang Nga Bay, day trips by boat are the easiest option.
Local food
Try pad thai, tom yum, green curry and mango sticky rice. Night markets are the best place for street food.
